The Practical Driving Test in Reading

There is a massive backlog of driving tests at the moment so trying to book one is quite difficult. The DVSA only book up to 6 months in advance. The best time to try to book a test is very early on a Monday morning (6am onwards) as this is when they release the next batch of tests.


You might be tempted to book a test at short notice to "Have a Go"
but please note I will not let you use my car if...

  • You have not told me when your test is - with enough notice
  • You have not had regular lessons leading up to your test

     You can change your driving test time without losing your money (provided you do it 3+ working days beforehand). So if there is not a test available as soon as you would like, you should book what is available then keep logging on and seeing if there are any earlier test slots
